Stop the war
After nearly 10 days since the start of the US/UK imposed war on Iraq, failure of the warmongers of both countries’ governments in depicting it as a “rapid clean war” is becoming apparent, day-by-day. Land and air attacks on civilians have left many dead and wounded, particularly amongst women and children in the past week. Parts of the Iraqi economic infrastructure are now in ruins.
It is now clear that the war would take longer than anticipated as both Bush and Blair have admitted to this and their military have audaciously announced the inevitability of heavy “collateral” damage in continuing this war. The most dangerous aspect of this war is a possible resort by the US to the use of strategic nuclear weapons in a military “situation”.
Apart from the fact that the US military is equipped with tactical nuclear weapons and make use of them, possible use of these weapons are appearing in recent threats by the US officials, military analysts reports and peace loving peoples concerns.
A humanitarian/political catastrophe is threatening the Iraqi Kurdistan. Involvement of the neighbouring countries is not annulled. The Iranian border and people of that region have not been unscathed.
Despite the censorship imposed by both US and UK authorities on war reports by many news agencies, news of the war and the truth is becoming clearer, enlightening and influencing public opinion.
Peace-loving people of the world, such as in the USA, are increasing their efforts. The international peace movement is moving ahead ever more forcefully.
O I P F (Maj) – reaffirm their solidarity with the Iraqi people and the Iraqi democratic opposition struggling for democracy in Iraq and an end to the war and declaring their disgust and protest against the massacre of the Iraqi people and the destruction of this country.
We demand an immediate end to the war, departure of all foreign military powers from Iraq and referring the Iraqi conflict to the UN as the sole legal body for dealing with international disputes.
